HARRY F FURLONG
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon for Harry F.
Furlong, 57, a barber in Mt. Vernon for 30 years and a World War I veteran who
died very suddenly shortly before noon Friday (25 Mar 1955) at his home at 622 Mill Street.
The body is at the Weisinger Funeral
Home and the funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Weisinger chapel with Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of
Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in
Bellefontaine cemetery and Owen Dunn post, No. 5, American Legion, will conduct
graveside military rites.
Mr. Furlong had been ill of heart disease for more than a year and
last November was forced because of illness to close his barber shop which he
built 11 years ago adjacent to his home where he and his wife, Lottie Buchanan Furlong, and the latter's mother, Mrs. Etna
Buchanan, resided.
Death was very unexpected. Mr. Furlong was talking with an
insurance adjuster in the garage of his home when he was fatally stricken and
died there seconds later.
