CHARLTON B GREEN

 

Charlton B. Green, 73, Evansville, a former Mt. Vernon resident and a representative of two prominent pioneer local families died this morning (15 Dec 1955) at Welborn Memorial Baptist Hospital in Evansville.

 

He suffered a stroke of paralysis and had been seriously ill since Sunday.

 

The deceased's parents were Edwin T. Green early farm, civic and political leader in Posey county, and Victoria Barter Green.

 

The body is at Alexander Funeral Home in Evansville but funeral arrangement had not been completed at noon.  (Buried in Locust Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana.)

 

Mr. Green was a member of Lessing lodge No. 164 Free & Accepted Masons, Evansville and Simpson Methodist Church of Evansville.

 

He had resided in Evansville for a number of years and was a school supplies salesman.

 

The deceased's wife, nee Lillian Meyer of Evansville, who died several years ago.

 

His nearest survivors are three brothers, Edwin V. Green, Mt. Vernon, Elmer H. Green, R. R. 4, Mt. Vernon and Richard Clinton Green, Los Angeles, and four sisters, Mrs. May McKenzie, R. R. 4 Mt. Vernon, Miss Gertrude Green, Mt. Vernon, Mrs Howard Grainger, Evansville, and Mrs. Martha Mc Neeley, Valparaiso, Ind.
