JAMES LEMUEL GREEN

James Lemuel Green, 71, of Oliver, a farmer in recent years and prior to that time an employee of Bucyrus- Erie in Evansville, died suddenly at the home of his son, Herschel, in Oliver at 5:15 a.m. today.

 

Mr. Green's death followed that of his wife by less than a month.  Mrs. Green did last Dec. 19.

 

The late deceased had gone to his son's home yesterday for a visit.  He was fatally stricken shortly after he ate breakfast this morning.  A coronary condition probably caused death.

 

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there until it is taken to Mt. Zion General Baptist Church near Oliver, of which Mr. Green was a member for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Officiating ministers will be Rev. Lawrence Rager, Evansville, a former Mt. Zion Church pastor, and Rev. John Kell, Oakland City.

 

Surviving are the son, Herschel; a daughter, Mrs. Lancewell  McCarty, Evansville; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and four half sisters, Mrs. Timothy Dady, Tampa, Fla; Mrs. Ethel Schaffer, mt. Vernon, Mrs. Fred Morlock, Oliver, and Mrs. C. C. LaFevre, Santa Susana, Calif.

 

The deceased was a native of Pike county, Ind., but had resided in Posey county more than 50 years.
