James M.
Griswold was born at Mill Shoals in
He was united in
marriage to Mary E. Brooks
To this union 8
children were born.
His
wife and one child preceding him in death.
He leaves behind
to mourn his departure five daughters and 2 sons: Martha Hawkins and Della
Papers of Mt. Carmel; Carrie Stevens, Evansville; Magalene
Newport, Browns, Ill.; Louise Barnett, Griffin; Walter of Griffin and Charles
of Mt. Vernon. There are 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many
other relatives and friends.
He retired from
active life in 1923 and spent the rest of his life with his daughter Louise. He
was highly respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services
were conducted at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon by Rev. Skelton of
Cynthiana
