HARRY HARDIN

Harry Hardin, 57, city garbage collector for a number of years and a native of Mt. Vernon, died very suddenly at 6:30 a.m. today at his home 341 W. Third Street.

 

A diabetic for several years Hardin apparently was stricken with an attack of heart disease as he stood in the doorway of his home.  He died in the yard.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service.  Friends are invited to call after 11 a.m. Sunday.

 

Rev. Frank Turner, pastor of the Church of God Mission, will conduct the funeral service at the Weisinger chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

Surviving are the wife, nee Virginia Ann Coburn; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Angeline Medcalf, Mrs. Betty Louise Thrall and Rita Gay, Wanda Sue and Very Jane Hardin; two sons, Harry, Jr., and Jerry Lee, all of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren; a brother, Fred M. Hardin, Albion, Ill, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Carr, Mt. Vernon and a sister in law, Mrs. Opal Hardin, Mt. Vernon, widow of Alonzo Hardin.
