ROBERT P (BOB) HARDY

Robert P. (Bob) Hardy, 76, for several years a resident of Mt. Vernon during which time he was employed by the former Keck-Gonnerman Co., died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the home of a nephew, Howard Simpson, 1107 West Tennessee street, Evansville.  Simpson was reared by his uncle.

 

The deceased, a native of White county, Ill., a son of Calvin Hardy and Flora Gardner Hardy, came to Mt. Vernon from Griffin.  He had resided in Evansville with the nephew for the last three years.  His health failed a year ago and he had been bedfast since Christmas.

 

The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there until it is taken to Griffin Primitive Baptist Church for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Burial will be in a Griffin cemetery.

 

Five nephews and a niece are the nearest surviving relatives. - Howard P. Simpson and Dalton Galbreath, Evansville; Robert E. Simpson, Griffin; Herman Simpson, Brooklyn, N.Y; William E. Hardy, Cape Girardeau, Mo and Mrs. Mervil Snively, Wadesville, In.
