NICHOLAS HARTMANN

Nicholas Hartmann, 70, R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon, a prominent farmer and life-long resident of Marrs township, died at 5:05 a.m. today at his home on Ford Rd.

 

Complications attending an illness of pneumonia were fatal.

 

The deceased's parents, Nicholas Hartmann and Elizabeth Frey Hartmann, were natives of Marrs township.

 

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening.

 

It will be taken to Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Marrs township at 11 a.m. Saturday and will lie in state there until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Officiating ministers will be Rev. Robert Dohm, who will shortly assume the active pastorate of Immanuel Church, and Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Church in Mt. Vernon.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Mr. Hartmann was a member of Immanuel Church and its Brotherhood.

 

Survivors include the wife, nee Lena Egli whose marriage to Mr. Hartmann took place 45 years ago; a son, Oscar, R. R. 2, Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Bosecker, R. R. 13, Evansville; a brother, Henry E. Hartmann, R. R. 2, Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Sam Egli, Evansville and four grandsons.
