HATTIE TENTE HOPKINS   

 

March 4, 1955

A chronic heart ailment was fatal to Mts. Hattie Tente Hopkins, widow of Edgar W. Hopkins at 5 a.m. Sunday (27 Feb 1955) at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Keck, 400 Mulberry street.  Death was very unexpected.

 

Mrs. Hopkins was 81 years old, but she was one of those individuals who maintained interest in life about her through the avenue of good books, current reading and pleasant associations with others despite advancing years.

 

The body is at the Short Niehaus Funeral Home.  It will remain there through the funeral service to be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Short Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery where the husband who died in 1928 is buried.  The officiating ministers will be Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed  Church, of which the deceased had been a member since girlhood.

 

The family request is for no floral offerings.

 

Surviving are the one daughters, Mrs. Keck; three grandchildren, Robert A. Keck, Jr., Mt. Vernon, James H. Keck, Racine Wis., and David M. Keck, Mt. Vernon, a student in Indiana University; a sister, Mrs. Anna Boyer, Mt. Vernon, and two brothers, Fred W. Tente, Louisville and John C. Tente, Mt. Vernon.
