CORA LURKER HUGHLETT

Mrs. Cora Lurker Hughlett 64, a native of Marrs township, died Wednesday (7 Mar 1956) at her home at 214 North Barker avenue Evansville.

 

She ws the widow of Melvin "Bud" Hughlett, for many years a motorman on the Evansville-Mt. Vernon division of the former Evansville & Ohio Valley Railway Co. interurban system.  Mr. Hughlett died three years ago.

 

Mrs. Hughlett was a member of St. Peter's Methodist Church in Marrs township and auxiliaries of Evansville Owls lodge and Evansville West Side Sportsman Club.

 

The body is at Robert Greek Mortuary in Evansville where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery at Evansville.

 

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. George Ring, Homewood, Ill., and Mrs. Charles Korsmeier, Evansville; four brothers, Oscar Lurker, Mt. Vernon, and Andy Lawrence and Carl Lurker, all of Evansville, and a stepson, George Hughlett, Chicago.
