ELIZABETH ROACH KAPPERMAN

Mrs. Elizabeth Roach Kapperman, 70, a life long resident of the Mt. Vernon community and the wife of Albert Kapperman a retired farmer, died at 9:25 o'clock last night at Boehe Hospital near Evansville.

 

Mrs. Kapperman entered Welborn Memorial Baptist Hospital in Evansville from her home at 1101 W. Fourth street a week ago and the following day was removed to Boehe.  A cerebral hemorrhage was fatal.

 

The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Short-Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.  Rev. Ernest E. Hopper, pastor of Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene and a neighbor of the Kappermans, will be the officiating minister.

 

The deceased was a member of the Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Roach was born in the Solitude vicinity north of Mt. Vernon a daughter of Bazil Roach and Alice Ashworth Roach.  She and her husband moved to Mt. Vernon in recent years from their farm home at the north outskirts of Mt. Vernon.

 

Surviving in addition to the husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Allyn Tennison, Chicago; two grandchildren; two brothers, John P. Roach, Mt. Vernon and Philip Roach, Evansville, and six sisters, Mrs. Adelia Mc Reynolds, Mrs. Alph Grissom, Mrs. Eura Isham and Mrs. Howard Ramsey, all of Evansville.  Mrs. George Miller, of near Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Lorna Wiley, Lynn township.
