SAMPSON G KLOTZ

Sampson G. Klotz, 81, Mt. Vernon, a retired Point township farmer and a representative of two pioneer South Posey county families, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday (25 Jul 1957) at a Cynthiana Nursing Home.

 

Ill for a long period of time, Mr. Klotz entered the nursing home two weeks ago from the home of his sister, Mrs. G. Edward Behrens, in Mt. Vernon.  He had resided with Mt. and Mrs. Behrens since 1953.

 

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening.

 

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Weisinger chapel.  The officiating clergyman will be Rev. Otis Wasson, a native of Posey county and a present pastor of Berean Bible Church in Evansville.  Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Evansville where the wife of the deceased, nee Alice Rhodes, who died in 1946 is buried.

 

The deceased resided in Evansville from 1937 to 1953.

 

He was a member of First Methodist church of Mt. Vernon.

 

Mr. Klotz was a son of Henry J. Klotz, a Union Army soldier in the Civil War, and Sarah S. Greathouse.  Both were members of pioneer families of Point township where the late deceased was born.

 

Surviving are a son, Sampson G. Jr., Fair Oaks, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Maynard, Evansville, Mrs. Lloyd Crane, R. R. 13, Evansville, and Mrs. George Randolph, R. R. 13, Evansville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and the sister, Mrs. Behrens.
