Ferd Henry Kluga, Jr,
29, of 2126 Lincoln avenue, Evansville whose father is a former Mt Vernon
resident, died unexpectedly Saturday (16 Aug 1952) afternoon while visiting in Cincinnati.
Bronchial pneumonia was fatal. Mr. Kluga,
who was the guest of his aunts, Mrs. Helen Wien and
Miss Selma Kluga, in Mt. Vernon a week ago yesterday, went to Cincinnati early last week. He became ill
soon after his arrival in Cincinnati, and his father was called to Cincinnati late in the week. His condition
worsened following his entrance of Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati and death occurred at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The body is at the Robert Greek mortuary chapel in Evansville, where Rabbi Milton Greenwald, Evansville will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rose
Hill cemetery at Evansville.
Surviving are the parents and a half-brother, Gerald Blum, Evansville.
The deceased had been associated with his father in F. H. Kluga & Co., Evansville commission firm, for several years.
He was a veteran of three and one half years; military service in the
Southwest Pacific theater in World War II serving in
the U.S. Army Artillery in the Phillipines and later
in Japan.
Mr. Kluga was a native of Evansville. He attended Castle Heights Military Academy in Tennessee and was graduated from Evansville Central High school in 1943. He entered the Army
shortly after graduation from high school. Following his discharge from
military service he returned to Evansville and was a student in Lockyear's
Business College, later joining his father in business.
He was a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, B'nai
Brith, and the Travelers Protective Association.
He was also actively interest in the Y.M.C.A.
