ANNA NEFZGER MOELLER

 

April 18, 1955

Mrs. Anna Nefzger Moeller, 88, member of a prominent, early Mt. Vernon family and wife of John H. Moeller, 87, former Mt. Vernon mayor, Republican and civic leader and manufacturer, died at 6 a.m. Sunday (16 Apr 1955) at the home of her son in law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Stephens, 1103 East Walnut street, Evansville.

 

Mrs. Moeller had resided with her son in law and daughter in Evansville for the last two years.  Mr. Moeller is a patient in Kueber Nursing Home in Evansville.  They resided for many years at 420 E. Water street in Mt. Vernon.

 

The deceased a respected native of Mt. Vernon, was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and of St. Anne's Altar Society and the Poor Souls' Society of St. Matthew's parish.

 

The body is at the Weisinger funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there until it is taken to St. Matthew's Church for Requiem High Mass at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.  Father Brune, pastor of Holy Angels Catholic Church of New Harmony, will be the Mass celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

The deceased was a daughter of Xavier Nefzger and Sophia Berger Nefzger.  Survivors in addition to the husband and daughter, are a son, John R. Moeller, a Weather Bureau meteorologist stationed in St. Louis, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
