ALVIN EARL MATTHEWS, III

MOUNT VERNON - Alvin Earl Matthews III, 28, of Mount Vernon, Ind., died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at his home.

He was born December 5, 1978, in Evansville. Earl enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts and loved to camp and fish. He was a prep-cook at Heusler Inn and had worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Bridges and George and Connie Osborne.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cindy Lou (Bridges) and Alan Osborne of Mount Vernon; sister, Carrie Osborne of Evansville; his grandmother, Anna Lou Bridges of Mount Vernon; and his dearest friend, Valerie Seifert of Mount Vernon.

Funeral services will be private at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mount Vernon, with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Posey County Humane Society, 6500 Leonard Rd., Mount Vernon, IN 47620.
