ANNA MAY CARTER MCCARTY

Mrs. Anna May Carter McCarty 77, wife of Fred McCarty, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday (25 Mar 1955) at her home at 621 W. Sixth street after a brief illness.

 

She was a native of Cynthiana and prior to her coming to Mt. Vernon 25 years ago had resided in Northern Posey county.  Her first husband was the late Guss Schmall and much of their married life was spent in the New Harmony vicinity.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home where friends are invited to call, beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday.

 

The funeral service will be conducted in the Weisinger chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday by Robert W. Allison, minister of First Christian Church of Mt. Vernon.  Burial will be in Liberty cemetery at Cynthiana.

 

The deceased was a member of the Christian Church at Cynthiana and Cynthiana chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

 

Surviving, in addition to the husband, a retired Lynn township farmer, are two sisters, Mrs. Ella Evans and Mrs. Emma Foster, both of Robinson, Ill, and a brother, Ola Carter, Sarasota, Fla.
