JENNIE CRUNK MCCUE

The body of a former Mt. Vernon resident, Mrs. Jennie Crunk McCue, was due to reach Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon this afternoon from Daytona Beach, Fla.

 

Mrs McCue, a member of a prominent pioneer Posey county family, died at 11 o'clock Friday (4 Nov 1955) night in Halifax General Hospital in Daytona Beach.

 

She would have been 81 years old on the coming Nov. 17.

 

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Short-Niehaus chapel.  Rev. Temas Taylor, pastor of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral service.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

Surviving  are a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Hartig, Berkley, Ill; a son, Merle Martin, Port Orange, Fla. a grandson, Malcom Hartig, Evansville; two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. James Arthur Wolfinger, Mt. Vernon.

 

Mrs. McCue left Evansville in 1921 and had resided in Florida most of the time since.

 

She was a daughter of William D. Crunk and Missouri Dixon Crunk.
