Native of Posey Is Dead In West

Fieldon B McFadden, 59, a member of a prominent West Lynn township family and for the last several years owner manager of Mc Fadden's Wholesale co., in Rock Springs, Wyoming, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Rock Springs, Memorial Hospital.

 

The Lynn township native had been bedfast for the last two years and entered the hospital two weeks ago from his home.

 

A brother, Goebel McFadden, West Lynn, left today for Rock Springs to attend funeral rites and burial that will be held there probably Friday.

 

The late deceased was a son of the late Ben McFadden.  His mother is now Mrs. Louis Holtzmeier and resides in the Savah community.

 

Following graduation in 1914 from Mt. Vernon High School where he was a star football player, he attended Terre Haute State Normal (now Indiana State Teachers College) and then taught school in Steele, N.D.  Upon his return to Posey county from North Dakota he operated a general store at Savah for several years and entered World War I  military service from Posey County.

 

In January 1922 he married Mary Eliza McDurmon daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mc Durmon.  They had resided in Wyoming for the last 25 years.

 

Surviving in addition to the mother and brother in Posey county, are the wife, Rock Springs; four sons, John S, Casper, Wyoming; Elbert H; Pat and Michal, all of Rock Springs; two daughters Alice Jean Mc Fadden, Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. Alex Unguren, Rock Springs, and two grandchildren.
