GEORGE P MCFADIN

George P. McFadin, 89, died at 3 o'clock Monday (13 Aug 1956) afternoon at the home of his son, Herdis McFadin in Lynn township.  Infirmities of old age resulted in his death.

 

The deceased was a member of one of the earliest pioneer families of Black and Lynn Twp.  He was the son of Andrew(Hettie) and Martha Ann Culley McFadin.

 

Mr. McFadin was twice married.  His first wife was nee Effie Williams.  To this union were born three children- Nola Weir and Adrian, deceased, and the surviving son Herdis.  His second marriage was to Lucretia Curnell who died three years ago.

 

The only other survivors in addition to the son, Herdis, are three grandchildren, Craig McFadin, Lynn township, Mrs. Agnew Weir, Batson and John Phares Weir, South Pasadena, Calif.

 

"Uncle George" as he was known to many had spent his entire life as a farmer in Black and Lynn townships.   He was a member of Bethesda General Baptist Church at Savah.  He will be remembered by his many friends as a man of genial disposition.

 

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 o'clock this afternoon.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at Bethseda Church in Savah Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and then the body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until the hour of the service.  Rev. Edward Couch, Bethesda pastor will officiate.  Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Clarence Walker, Warren Chapman, Paul McFadin, Woodrow McFadin, Noah Alldredge and Albert Alldredge.
