John Neu, 79, prominent farmer of the St. Philips neighborhood was found dead at 8 o'clock this morning.  He had been painting in his shed.

 

The deceased was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church, and on Feb 15, 1953, with his wife had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

 

Near surviving relatives are the wife, Anna; three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Sallweachter, Wadesville, Mrs. Elfrieda Waltz, Evansville, and Mrs. Emilie Kemper, St. Philips; a son, John Jr., St Philips; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Doerr, Mrs. Tillie Klinger and Mrs. Ida Hardy, all of Evansville; three brothers, Henry, Philip and William, all of Posey county; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral arrangements have not been made.  The body is at the Alexander Funeral Home in Evansville where friends may call after 6 o'clock this evening.   (Burial was in Tupman Cemetery near Evansville, Indiana.)
