PHILLIP H ORTH

Phillip H. Orth, 71, a farmer and a long-long resident of Marrs township died suddenly at 9 a.m. today at his home.

 

Death came to the representative of a prominent Posey county family on the same farm near Gebhardt's Corner on the old Mt. Vernon-Evansville state road where he was born and had spent his entire life.  Chronic heart disease extending over a period of several years was fatal.

 

Mr. Orth was a member of Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church and the funeral service will be conducted in the church with burial following in the church cemetery.  Time of the services had not been set at the noon today.

 

The body is at the Short Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there until it is taken to the church for the service.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning thursday evening.

 

Two sons, Rudolph F. Orth, R. R. 13, Evansville, and Ervin G. Orth, R. R. 1 Mt. Vernon, and give grandchildren are the nearest surviving relatives.

 

Mrs. Orth wife of the late deceased and before her marriage Emma Zehner, died several years ago.

 

Mr. Orth's parents were Conrad Orth and Christina Abel Orth.
