HARVEY PFEIFFER

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Short funeral Home chapel and at the grave in Bellefontaine cemetery for Harvey H. Pfeiffer, 44, of 419 Chestnut street, a Bucyrus Erie of Evansville employee and a member of a prominent South Posey county family.

 

Mr. Pfeiffer succumbed to carcinoma of the throat at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville at 11:20 a.m. Saturday (14 Mar 1953), his death climaxing serious illness of several months.

 

Rev. Arthur Blackburn, a retired General Baptist minister, Rev. William A. Skelton, minister of St. John's Methodist Church at Caborn and Rev. Paul T Byrns, past of Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene, were the officiating clergyman at this afternoon's chapel and graveside rites.

 

Pallbearers were Richard Mc Alear, Jack Watson, Norman Pfeiffer, Vernon Esche and Charles Pfeiffer, of the Mt. Vernon community, and Grove Lee Collier, Evansville.

 

The deceased was a native of Robinson township, a son of Louis A Pfeiffer and Anna P Esche Pfeiffer.

 

Surviving are the wife, nee Inez G. Blackburn; a daughter, Sharon Ann; the father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Pfeiffer,  Mr. Vernon; two brothers, Raymond E Pfeiffer and Lester F Pfeiffer, both of R. R. 2, and three sisters, Mrs. Geneva W. Juncker, R. R. 2, Mrs Viola M. Benthall, R. R. 3, and Miss Ada L. Pfeiffer, Mt. Vernon.
