ANNA DUNN PHILLIPS

Mrs. Anna Dunn Phillips 95, widow of Elisha H. Phillips, a representative of two pioneer Posey county families. and the head of five generations, died at
2:30 p.m. Sunday (23 May 1954) at the Oakland City, Ind. Hospital.  She would have been 96 years old on the coming June 22.

Mrs. Phillips had been acutely ill less than a week.  She entered the hospital from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zillah Nelson, At Winslow,
Ind., where she had resided for the last 20 years.  Mr. Phillips (her husband) in the Farmersville vicinity died in 1916.

 

The body of Mrs. Phillips is at the Weisinger Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there through the funeral service to be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Weisinger chapel.  Elder Charles Fleener, Evansville, of the Primitive Baptist Church, will officiate.  Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church at Farmersville.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

Surviving in addition to the daughter, are seven grandchildren, Gerald Phillips, Indianapolis, Starlus Hogan, R. R. 3 Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Kenneth Klitz, Lafayette, Ind., Mrs Marie Rose, Evansville, Mrs. Helen Schriefer, Evansville, Mrs. Thelma White, Evansville, and Clydus Phillips, Mt. Vernon; ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

The deceased was a daughter of Robert and Mary Mc Clusky Dunn, the former a native of Posey county and the latter a native of
Virginia.
