Clydus (Potter) Phillips, 53, a former Mt. Vernon resident but in recent years of Evansville, died last night in Evansville. Phillips succumbed while en route
to a hospital from his home and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the
hospital.
The body will reach Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon this afternoon. Funeral
arrangements had not been made early this afternoon. (Burial
was in Mt Pleasant
Cemetery
in Bufkin,
IN.)
The deceased was a native of Posey county. His
father was Lemuel Phillips and his mother Lulia Dunn Phillips.
Surviving are the mother; two daughters, Mrs. John F. Yaggi,
Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Norman Terry, Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs.
Marie Phillips Rose, Evansville.
