IONA TAYLOR REDMAN

 

(1885 – 1955)

Mrs Iona Taylor Redman, 70, wife of Taylor Redman, succumbed to a long illness at 8:20 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Dielkes, 219 Mill street.

 

A native of Decatur, Ill., a daughter of William and Susan Taylor, Mrs. Redman had resided in the Mt. Vernon community for 50 years.  She had been at her daughter’s home for the last week.

 

The deceased was a member of Black Chapel Methodist Church and Grafton Community Club.

 

The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home where the service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Short-Niehaus chapel by Rev. E. M. Couch, pastor of Bethesda General Baptist Church at Savah.  Burial will be in Beech Grove cemetery in West Lynn township.

 

The surviving husband and the deceased were married 51 years ago.

 

Surviving in addition to the husband and the daughter, Mrs. Dielkes, are three other daughters, Mrs. William A Cameron, Mascoutah, Ill., Mrs. Ralph Shephard, R. R. 1, New Harmony and Mrs. Albert A. Lane, St. Louis,and 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
