Mrs. Elizabeth Witt Renschler, 79, of 701 East Fourth street, Mt. Vernon, wife of John Renschler, a retired farmer and carpenter, died at 5:45 pm Sunday at Welborn Memorial Baptist Hospital in Evansville.

 

She had been a patient in the hospital for the last four weeks after suffering a broken hip in a fall from her bed at her home. Her health had failed in recent months.

 

A native of Vanderburgh county, a daughter of Joseph Witt and Christina Hufnagel Witt, the deceased and her husband resided in Eastern Black Township, Posey county, before their moving to Mt. Vernon 30 years ago.

 

The body of Mrs. Renschler is at Weisinger Funeral Home where friends may call after 7:00 this evening. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday in Weisinger Chapel with Rev. A.C. Blackburn, a retired Posey county General Baptist minister, and Rev. Charles Hardin, Evansville, a grandson of the deceased, as the officiating clergymen. Burial will be in Bellefountaine cemetery.

 

Mrs. Renschler was a confirmant of Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Marrs Township.

 

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are a daughter, Mrs. William Dempesmeier, R.R. 2; two sons, Oscar, Mt. Vernon, and Alfred, R.R. 2,; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary

Utley and Mrs. Lula Williams, both of R.R. 2, and a brother, Henry Witt, Mt. Vernon.
