JOHN A ROBISON

 

May 31, 1955

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon for John A Robison, 63, Point township farmer and an oil well pumper of McAlester Fuel Company, who died early Saturday (28 May 1955) at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.  A coronary occlusion proved fatal two weeks after he had undergone successful gallbladder surgery.

 

Rev. Ernest E. Hopper, pastor of Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene, officiated at a brief service at the Weisinger Funeral Home and at services in the Nazarene Church and at the grave in Bellefontaine cemetery.  Pallbearers were Edward Yeida, William Yeida, George Bennett, Willard Elliott, Oscar McGennis and William D. Duley.

 

The deceased had resided in Point Township for 57 years moving there when he was six years old with his parents Harrison Robison and Lora Drake Robison, from Gallatin county, Illinois, where he was born.

 

The late deceased's wife, Irene Steffler Robison, died two years ago.

 

Surviving Mt. Robison are two daughters, Mrs. Casper Eilert, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Richard  Byrnes, Evansville; two sons, Ervin D. Robison, Point township and John Edward Robison at home; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Fellemende and Mrs. Clyde Higdon, Louisville, Ky; and Mrs. Louis Curtis, R. R. 5, Mt. Vernon, and a brothers, Edgar Robison, Carmi, Ill.  A daughter, Edith, died in infancy.

 

The deceased was a member of Posey aerie, No 1717, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
