VEATCHER RUSSELL

Veatcher Russell 76, well known native of Mt. Vernon who returned here two years ago following retirement, died at 3 a.m. today at his home at 314 E. Third street.

 

He had been ill for six weeks and seriously ill since Wednesday.

 

The deceased, a son of J. W. Russell and Jane Culley Russell returned to Mt. Vernon two years ago from Akron, Ohio where he was for 35 years an employee of B. F. Goodrich Rubber Co. for most of the time a foreman.

 

Surviving are the wife, Ida Randolph Russell, Mt. Vernon; a brother, Arnold Russell, Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. John Kinkel, Evansville, and Mrs. Otto E. Brown, Mt. Vernon; a nephew, Jack Kinkel, Evansville, and a niece Mrs. Hazel Chamberlain, Cleveland, Ohio.

 

The body is at the Short Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for 4 p.m. Saturday in the Short Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

The officiating clergyman will be Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church.
