Joseph Schenk, 71, a farmer residing at St. Phillips in Marrs township, died at 6 p.m. Monday (25 Jul 1955)

at his home after a brief illness.

 

He was a life-long resident of the St. Phillips community.  His parents were George Schenk and Margaret Schrephter Schenk.

 

The body is at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home at 219 East Franklin street in Evansville and will remain there until Thursday afternoon when it will be taken to the late residence.

 

Requiem High Mass will be conducted at St. Philip Catholic Church by Father Charles Kaiser, pastor, at 8 a.m. Friday.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Mr. Schenk was a member of the Men's Society and Poor Souls' Society of St. Phillip Church.

 

Surviving are the wife, Blandina; a son Urban, St. Phillips; four daughters, Mrs. John Wagner, and Mrs. Lawrence F. Titzer, both of R. R. 2, Chandler, Mrs. Norbert Spellmeyer and Mrs. Servin Spellmeyer, both of Jasper; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Sister Clara, O.S. B. Ferdinand, and a half-sister, Mrs. Margaret Fluri, Evansville.
