TINA WILSON SCHENK

Mrs. Tina Wilson Schenk, 67, of 521 E. Water street, died at 10:30 o'clock this morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.

 

She was the wife of Fred E. Schenk, who operated a cigar store on Main street.  Her ability as a seamstress was widely recognized.

 

In failing health for several years, Mrs. Schenk had been hospitalized for the last five weeks and had undergone surgery.

 

The body will be brought to Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon this afternoon following an autopsy at the hospital.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  Friends may call at the funeral home after Tuesday noon.  (Burial was in St. Matthews Catholic Cemetery.)

 

A native of Kentucky, the deceased had resided in Mt. Vernon for 40 years.  Her marriage to Mr. Schenk took place 30 years ago.  A foster son of the Schenks, Walter C. Schenk was a World War II Gold Star.

 

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are a foster daughter, Mrs. Floyd Schoening, Mt. Vernon, and two brothers, Bailey Wilson and John Wilson, both of Dixon, Ky.
