VERA RABEN SCHENK
Mrs. Vera Raben Schenk, 62, widow of
Carl W. Schenk and a resident of Mt. Vernon most of her life, died at
6:20 p.m. Wednesday (1 Sep 1954) at
the home of her son, Raben C. Schenk, 162 McKinley
Place, Ridgewood, N.J.
The body will be brought to
Mrs. Schenk, a daughter of Theodore H. Raben
and Rosa Fuelling Raben, representaives
of prominent local families, had resided with her son and family since 1944
most of the time in
She accompanied her son and family East last spring upon the son's
transfer there as manager of the paper division of Continental Can.
A stroke suffered several months ago was the climax of many years;
illness, a succession of sickness and injury which she bore with a quiet,
courageous faith and optimistic outlook on life that were an inspiration and
benediction to those who knew her.

department of the former Rosenbaum & Brother Department Store in
