JAMES E SEARS 

 

FEB 1920

James E. Sears was born Nov. 26, 1876, departed this life Feb. 22, 1920; aged 45 years, 2 months and 26 days.

 

In 1897 he united in marriage to Ethel Price and to this union 6 children were born, 5 girls and 1 son, al living except one girl who died in infancy.

 

He united with the Regular Baptist Church at Griffin April 28, 1904 and served the office as Deacon in the Church from July 1911, until death.

 

He leaves to mourn a companion, five children Cecil, Jennie, Ellen, Ruby and James Henry, three sisters Mrs. J.P. Geisler, Mrs. Jno. M. Simpson and Mrs. M.O. Frauh and other relatives and friends.

 

The church has lost a devoted member and the family a faithful companion and father and the neighborhood a generous and good citizen. Elder Gwaltney of Poseyville conducted the funeral at the Baptist Church, interment at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

 

Newt Price of Arkansas was called here on account of the death of James Sears.
