Funeral services for William H. Sellers, 70, of Mt. Vernon, IN, were conducted on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at 10 a.m., at Schneider Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Schneider Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Mr. Sellers died at his home on Saturday, June 19, 2004. He was the recipient of a heart transplant in August 1998.

 

Mr. Sellers was born on August 16, 1933, in Sebree, KY. He was the son of the late Henry and Effie Littlepage Sellers.

 

Mr. Sellers was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict; he was owner⁄operator of Sellers Gas Service; he was assistant manager at Custom Farm Service in Mt. Vernon for several years; he was a member of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church, where he had served on the building committee, was a former Sunday School teacher, and a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School class.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Sellers; two sisters, Nina J. Sellers, and Joy Schmidt.

 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Freeman Sellers of Mt. Vernon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Denise Sellers of Mt. Vernon, and Jon and Melissa Sellers of Evansville, IN; two daughters and son-in-law, Margie and David Waible of Poseyville, IN, and Dr. Dianna Sellers of Fishers, IN; a brother, Donald Sellers of Indianapolis, IN; five sisters, Helen Cox, Faye Dority, Mary Lou Ludden, Wanda North and Sue Reid all of Evansville, and Jane McBroom of Indianapolis; one uncle, Marvin Littlepage of Henderson, KY; eight grandchildren, Brady and wife Shelley Waible, Jesse Waible, Jimmy Sellers, Stephanie Sellers, Brandon Sellers, Jon Michael Sellers, Tyler Sellers, and Samantha Sellers; and one great-grandchild, Lane Andrew Waible.
