ARTHUR SKELTON

Arthur Skelton, 71, a butcher and for many years a meat department manager and employee of Mt. Vernon food stores, died early today at his home at 113 West Second street.

 

He had been ill for several years and seriously ill for the last three years.

 

A native of Edwards county, Ill., Mr. Skelton had resided in Mt. Vernon for the last 30 years.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home but funeral arrangements were incomplete early this afternoon.  (Burial was in Moore Cemetery.)

 

Surviving are the wife, Zula Olive; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Alice Suits, Mt. Vernon, and three sons, Gilbert F., of the Mt. Vernon theater staff, Henry Lee, U. S. Air Force, stationed at Waco, Tex., and Arthur Lee, Evansville.  A son, Haraold C., was a Gold Star of World War II.
