PHILLIP J  STRATMANN

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning for Philip J Stratmann, 60, St. Philips, who died at 11:35 a.m. Monday (12 Oct 1953) at the Kueber Nursing Home in Evansville.  

 

Mr. Stratmann had been ill for several months and was a patient in the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for several weeks prior to his entrance of the nursing home.

 

A brief service at the Schenk & Pierre Funeral Home in Evansville at 8 o'clock Thursday morning will be followed by  Requiem High Mass at 8:30 o'clock at St. Philip Catholic Church, burial will be in the church cemetery.  Mr. Stratmann was a member of the St. Philip Church and its Poor Souls Society and Men's Society.  The Poor Souls Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.

 

The deceased had been a caster at the Peerless Pottery in Evansville for 30 years.  He was a native of Carmi, Ill., a son of John T. Stratmann and Anna Mary Stratmann, and came to Posey county 43 years ago.  For a number of years he engaged in farming in the Mt. Vernon vicinity and at one time was employed by Home Mill & Grain Co.

 

Surviving are the wife, nee Ella M. White, who is a sister of Miss Agnes White, Mt. Vernon and the late J. Alfred White, Mt. Vernon; two sons, John R; Evansville, and Bernard, Posey county; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen Kueber, San Antonio, Tex; two brothers, Raymond and John, Evansville; four sisters, Mrs. Clem Niemeier, Mrs. Henry Bender, Miss Elizabeth Stratmann and Miss Dois Stratmann all of Evansville, and six grandchildren.
