LOUIS THOMPSON

Louis M. Thompson, 69, employed as a machinist for 35 years by Keck-Gonnerman Co., died at
2:20 p.m. Wednesday (28 Jul 1954) at his home at 805 W. Second St.

He had been in failing health for the last two years and had been forced by illness to retire.

A native of Gallatin county, Ill., son of William W. Thompson and Amy Duckworth Thompson, the deceased had resided in Mt. Vernon most of his life.

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service to be held at
2 p.m. Saturday in the Weisinger chapel.  Officiating ministers will be Rev. Everett Wood and Rev. Frank Turner.  Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery near Bufkin.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the East Side Pentecostal Tabernacle.

The deceased was the father of 12 living children.

Surviving are the wife, nee Oren Mc Daniel; seven daughters, Mrs Harvey E. Davis, Greenwood, Ind; Mrs Arthur Frecka, Englewood, Colo; Mrs. Elvin Fleener, R. R. 1 Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Narrah Mc Coy, Warrensburg, Mo; Mrs. Garland Cliborne, Chase City, Va; Miss Iris L. Thompson, Indianapolis and Marilyn Thompson at home; five sons, William E; Denver, Colo; Wilbert C., St. Louis, and Albert L., Truman L, Truman K, and David K at home; we grandchildren and one great grandchild, and three sisters, Mrs. Marshall H. Alldredge, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Gus Springer, Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. Maude Mc Donald, Denver Col.
