Mrs. Fidellia Phillips Trafford, 72, as
beloved life-long resident of the Farmersville community and a member of one of
South Posey county's oldest and most prominent families died unexpectedly at
She was the wife of Enzla E. Trafford,
an auctioneer and livestock breeder of reputation and the owner operator of
Trafford Stables at Farmersville, widely known for its saddle horses, riders
and riding school.
In addition to her close association with her husband in his
successful business interests, Mrs. Trafford was for many years a raiser of
Barred Rock chickens that captured numerous state awards and became the primary
stock of many poultry farms in the

weeks ago she became ill of influenza but was believed on the road to recovery

Surviving in addition to the husband, are
a nephew, Myron Downen, Poseyville, of David-Downen
Motors Co., and a great niece, Mrs. John Schmitzer,

Since 1913, Mrs. Trafford and her husband had occupied the one
dwelling at Farmersville.
The deceased's parents
were John T. Phillips and Thanie Alldredge
Phillips, representatives of pioneer Posey county families and both natives of
Black township.
