LUCILLE UHDE  

 

MOUNT VERNON - Lucille (Cotner) Uhde, age 93, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

She was born Nov. 20, 1913, in Mount Vernon, Ind., daughter of the late Harry and Della (Marshall) Cotner. She and her husband, Oscar H. Uhde, built and owned the Parkette & Car Port Restaurants in Mount Vernon and she was a homemaker.

 

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Oscar H. Uhde in 2002, and her three brothers Harold, Earl and Carl Cotner.

 

Surviving are her daughter, Marcille Staiger and her husband Arthur of Mount Vernon, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jenny Burris and her husband Kent, Peggy McBride and her husband Bobby, and Bud Staiger and his wife Terri. Also surviving are her five great-grandchildren, Clay Burris and his wife Ashley, Maggie Staiger, Kelsey Staiger, Ryan Staiger, and Joshua McBride; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mount Vernon, with Rev. Thomas Buffington officiating and burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. service time on Tuesday at Schneider Funeral Home.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Posey County Humane Society.
