Lawrence J. Utley, 82, well known Posey county citizen and retired
He had been in ill health for the past five years and his
condition had been serious the past six months. Complications were the
cause of his death.
Mr. Utley, one of the best known men in the county, was born
northeast of
Mr. Utley served the youth of Southern Posey county
for 19 years as a teacher in rural schools.
Later he became a road contractor and became widely known in

The wife died in August 1956, and a grandson, Paul Utley son of
Mr. and Mrs. Laslie Utley died five years ago..
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at
the Weisinger Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of
First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in
