CLAUDE MARTIN VOGEL

Claude Martin Vogel 72, of 645 South Willow Road, Evansville, a consulting engineer of Robert W. Hunt & Company, Chicago, for many years and during World War II in charge of the airplane wing plant at Servel died Wednesday (11 May 1955) night in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  His wife, Aletha Spencer Vogel, is a member of a prominent former Posey county family.

 

Mr. Vogel had been in failing health for four years and seriously ill the last six months.

 

The body is at the Robert Greek Mortuary in Evansville and will remain there through the funeral service set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Greek chapel.  Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Evansville.  The officiating minister will be Dr. M. Cavell, pastor of Evansville First Presbyterian Church of which the deceased was a life long member.

 

The wife is the sole near surviving relative.

 

Mr. Vogel, a native of Evansville, was a graduate of Purdue University.  He was a charter member of Phi Kappa sigma fraternity and a member of the Tau Beta Phi honorary fraternity.  He was a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Shrine, Elks and Turners.
