SARAH N WALLS

Mrs. Saran N. Walls, 81, a respected resident of Posey county and Mt. Vernon for 65 years, died at 2:45 a.m. today at her home at 622 Main street.  She was the widow of Ralph Otis Walls, a Point township, farmer who died in 1936.

 

Mrs. Walls had been ill for several months following a fall in which she broker her collarbone.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there until it is taken to St. Matthew's Catholic Church, of which the deceased was a devout member, for Requiem High Mass at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Father Raymond B. Smith, pastor of St. Matthew's Church will be the Mass celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. sunday.

 

Mrs. Walls was a native of Corydon, Ind., and came to Posey county as a girl.

 

Nearest surviving relatives are a son J. Luther O. Walls, Point township farmer; a grandson, Arthur Walls, Mt. Vernon; a granddaughter, Mrs. Wilma Adler, Evansville, and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Haas, Mt. Vernon, Sister Mary of St. Justina, Louisville, Ky; a Catholic nun of the Order of Good Shepherd and Mrs. Mollie Stewart Thompsonville, Ill.

 

Mrs. Walls and a niece, Miss Beulah Rhodes, Mt. Vernon had resided together for 26 years.
