Henry Walter, 87, a member of a prominent early Mt. Vernon family associated with the bakery and confectionery business died last night in Tulsa, Okla., where he had resided for many years, relatives in Mt. Vernon have been advised.

 

For many years, he was bailiff of the Federal Court at Tulsa.  He was a trombone player in early Mt. Vernon bands and he continued his musical role as a Tulsa bandsman for many years.

 

During his residence in Mt. Vernon, the deceased was a baker of the Walter Brothers Bakery.

 

Funeral service and burial will be at Tulsa.

 

Nearest survivors are the wife, nee Elizabeth Weisinger, 85, a member of another prominent local family, and a son, Harry, owner operator of two moving picture theaters in Tulsa.  The deceased and his wife last year celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

 

Also surviving are four brother, Ed, Hot springs, Ark., Mark and Fred, Sapulpa, Okla. and John, Terre Haute.
