Mrs. Ida M. Willis, 83, a highly respected, life-long resident of Posey county, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday (7 Oct 1957) at the Burton Nursing Home in Cynthiana after illness of two years that had been serious in recent weeks.

 

She was the widow of Zebulum Willis, a well known Mt. Vernon mechanic.

 

Mrs. Willis, a resident of 1028 W. Third street for many years entered the Cynthiana nursing home eight weeks ago from an Evansville hospital.

 

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening.

 

Minister John F. Miller of First Christian Church, of which the deceased was a member for many years, will conduct the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

The body will be moved from the funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday and will lie in state at the church until the funeral service.

 

The deceased was of pioneer Posey county ancestry.  She was born in Marrs township, the daughter of Jacob Moore and Mary Green Moore, both of whom were natives of Posey county.

 

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. John Carson, Greenfield, In., and eight nieces and three nephews.
