George V. Willman, 78, Mt. Vernon, a retired farmer and a respected
life-long resident of the Mt. Vernon community, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday (16 Oct 1956) at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He entered the hospital two and one half weeks ago after a heart
condition caused him to fall at his home at 324 E. Second street. On the eve of his planned return
home from the hospital he fell and fractured his hip.
Prior to his coming to Mt. Vernon seven years ago, he resided and farmed
in Eastern Black township.
Never married he made his home for many years with his brother and
sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. John Willman.
Following his brother's death, he continued residence with his sister in
law.
The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral
Home.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Short-Niehaus
chapel by Rev. Theodore M. Haefele, pastor of
Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church in Marrs township. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at Bufkin.
The deceased was a former member of St. John's (Sailer)
Evangelical and Reformed Church at Bufkin.
Survivors
include the sister in law: three nephews, Erwin Willman,
R. R. 2, Mt. Vernon and Albert Grabert
and Carl G. Grabert, R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon and two nieces, Miss Frieda Grabert, R. R. Wadesville and Miss Lydia Grabert, Mt. Vernon.
