KATIE RICHTER ZIEGLER

Mrs. Katie Richter Ziegler, 88, a native of Germany and an esteemed Posey county resident most of her life, died at 8:45 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Chris Ziegler, 710 West Second street, where she had resided since last August.

 

She had been ill for months and seriously ill for the last week.

 

The deceased was the widow of Konrad Ziegler, a farmer.  The Ziegler home for many years was southwest of Mt. Vernon overlooking the Ohio River.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home where friends are invited to call, beginning Friday noon.  The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Weisinger chapel with Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

Mrs. Ziegler's church affiliation was with Trinity Church of which she was a devout and active member.

 

Born in Germany, a daughter of Edgar Richter and Elizabeth Gardner Richter, she came to America as a girl.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters, all of Mt. Vernon and the rural vicinity - Chris, Charles, Fred, and John Ziegler and Mrs. Godfrey Schmitzer and Mrs. Louis Uhde.
