Pulaski Democrate (?) Drwoning at Bass Lake Samuel Cassady, a Chicago young man, was drowned in Bass Lake Tuesday. He was staying at the Kaiserhoff hotel, on the north side of the lake, and a young man from near Knox was there as his guest. The two went bathing and got (newspaper copy creased) of the pier to a point where the water deepens suddenly. Cassady could not swim much, and possibly siezed with cramps or something of that kind. At any rate he went down in about twelve feet of water, while some distance away from his companion. When the latter missed Cassady he called hastily several times, and on receiving no answer gave an alarm. In a very short time a large crowd of people gathered, and diligent search for the missing man was began at once. It was fully a half hour, however, before the body was found. Efforts were made to revive the man, but to no avail. The Starke County Coroner held an inquest, and the body was taken to
Knox
