Denham Store and Post Office

This picture was taken in 1968. Mike(Orvel Sr.) and Nellie
Podell owned the store. Mike was also the Postmaster. The Post
Office is attached to the left of the main building, with the
American flag showing. Mike and Nellie are Rhonda's Grandparents.
They lived in the little white building attached to the back of
the store when they were first married. Rhonda's Dad, (Orvel Podell)
was born there. April 2000

On back of picture the following was written:
Many fond memories are here- Our Denham School - Lumber Shed- Denham 
Elevator. Houses where Pastor Paul lived & later Granma Dommer,
our favorite store that burned down. Hand Car shed - Depot, a 
bit of the house where pop & mom first lived & section car shed 
and Grandpa Rhode by the crossing next to Aunt Clara Dommer's
house. Teachers were Bessie Emmett - 1-4 grades & Miss Hannah 
O'Connor - 5-8 grades. Kate Conway was our Sub. teacher.
April 2000
