Source: Star-Democrat, Greencastle, 25 Aug 1911 p 8

John A. Mace, who lives in Washington Township, is the defendant in a divorce suit filed in the Putnam Circuit Court Wednesday morning by Mrs. Dacey J. Mace.  Mrs. Mace alleges her husband does not support either her or their five children and that he has been in the habit of cursing and abusing her and at one time struck her. She claims that for the past several months that both she and the children had been dependent on her father, William Skelton and on charity. Mrs. Mace claims that her husband owns a 40-acre farm and an amount of personal property. She asks absolute divorce and $1,000 alimony. She also asks the custody of the five children and that Mace give her $100 a year for their support. Mr. and Mrs. Mace were married July 5, 1898 and lived together until Tuesday.  Mrs. Mace also filed an injunction to prevent her husband from disposing of any of the property until the case is heard. Hays & Murphy are attorneys for Mrs. Mace.
