Source: Greencastle Herald 12 Nov 1928 p 3

Monday was “divorce day” in the Putnam Circuit court with four decrees being granted by Judge James P. Hughes.  Sallie CRAVER of Madison Township was granted a divorce from William Craver, former Greencastle shoemaker and also given the custody of their one child.  Lucile Truesdel of Washington Township was granted a divorce from Jewel TRUESDEL on grounds of non-support. They were married only 8 months. Her maiden name of Lucile Custis was restored by the court. Costs of the case were taxed to the defendant. FS Hamilton represented both above plaintiffs.  Olus McALINDEN of Clinton Township was granted a divorce from Charles McAlinden on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. She also was given custody of a 14-year-old daughter. A property settlement was made outside of court.  James and Allee represented the plaintiff and Hays and Murphy the defendant.  Lydia GRIMES was granted a divorce from Lawrence Grimes on charges of cruel and inhuman treatment. She was also given custody of three of the seven children. Theodore Crawley was attorney for the plaintiff.  None of the defendants appeared in the above cases. - kbz
