Floyd - house fire

The Floyd House was burned Sunday night at 11:30. Defective flue. Nothing saved. No insurance. Loss $2,000. Had there been the slightest breeze at the time that part of town would have “gone up”” in flames; or had the chemical engine been in order for service the loss would not have exceeded $50.
