Hamilton, John H - 90

John H. Hamilton will celebrate his 90th birthday Sunday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. CE Peregrine in Plymouth, Ind where he has made his home for the last 10 years. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio March 19, 1849 he moved to Coles County, Illinois when a child and later engaged in farming there. At the age of 20 he went west and settled on a ranch in Indian territory and afterward became a cattle inspector at Hunnewell, Kan the then leading shipping point for Texas cattle. He served as mayor of this western town for three terms. In 1885 he was married to Miss Jessie Crow, Greencastle, Ind. Three years later he engaged in farming in Putnam County near Greencastle. Mrs. Hamilton died in 1928 since which time Mr. Hamilton has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. CE Peregrine in Plymouth. Another daughter, Mrs. HV Wadsworth resides in Joliet, Ill and a son, Robert H. Hamilton in Artesian, SD.
